Get Deditos in a New Language

Deditos language versions are partner-driven, meaning that other ministries and organizations have taken the initiative to localize and use the videos.

This video explains the process of dubbing Deditos into a different language.

The partnership model Viña has developed differs somewhat when compared with other models of collaboration. Here are some of the notable distinctives.

PARTNERSHIP MODEL
Local ministries and churches come to us stating their interest in dubbing and/or distributing the series. Although we have a global vision, we respect and trust the local church by empowering them with materials they can use as only they know best.

COSTS
With the hope of making the DEDITOS videos accessible to all, Viña provides the scripts and the audio and video files for recording the voices at no cost. Partners translate the scripts and record the voices. Viña creates masters from those voice recordings—again at no cost to our partners.

Partners do cover the time and expenses they incur to translate scripts, record the new voices and distribute or broadcast the videos.

The Deditos series is being made thanks to donations from people who believe in getting God's word seen and heard by kids who have still not had that opportunity. Viña is a not-for-profit association with no permanent funding source. You can bless and encourage yet more children by donating, as you feel led, towards the cost of producing more DEDITOS videos. Join us in making an extraordinary impact by bringing the stories of Scripture alive so that children everywhere can experience the love of Jesus.

TWO AGREEMENTS
One document is for dubbing Deditos; the other is for the distribution and usage of the dubbed version, given that the partners dubbing the programs may differ from the partners who broadcast or distribute them. Both are short and very basic (two pages).

MUTUAL TRUST AND VETTING
Before we enter into a partnership we try to get to know the entities who contact us. We evaluate their dubbing experience, but more importantly, we nurture a relationship with them. We also explore their reputation with other ministries that might know them.

COPYRIGHT AND OWNERSHIP
Viña remains the legal owner of all language versions of Deditos. This is no problem for most of our partners, but some with little experience have questioned the idea that they don’t “own” their dubbing work. The agreement does, however, treat them as owners in the sense that they are licensed to do virtually anything they choose with the programs (except changing the content or re-using the video or audio elements in a different production). Viña expects partners to provide copies of all language versions for our archives at our studios, to ensure against loss.

Quality Control
Viña takes the quality control of Deditos seriously. We provide coaching and orientation, but essentially our “quality control” happens two ways: by the selection of our partners, and by the quality with which we produce the original programs. Those performances, scripts, audio and video files set the standards for our partners.

If you are interested in any aspect of Deditos, we’d love to get together with you, get acquainted, and answer any questions you might have. You can schedule a conversation below, or, if your time zone doesn’t work with these hours, contact us, or we’ll contact you when you fill out the form (above).
